Customers receive a free in-store rental if they return online DVDs directly, and the company notes this will also increase dispatch time for the next film. Blockbuster US continues to expand, at 1.5 million subscribers at the end of September.
It hopes this new Total Access plan will help it expand to reach 2 million subscribers by the end of the year, though it comes second to US market leader Netflix.
Unfortunately, Australian DVD rental shops have not made similar moves, which is a pity as we think would be a great convenience and win over many new customers.
Blockbuster US Accepts Online Rental Returns in Stores
Blockbuster in the US has changed its online movie rental policy to allow customers to return DVDs either through the post or at their many stores.Customers receive a free in-store rental if they return online DVDs directly, and the company notes this will also increase dispatch time for the next film.
